提到教师，我们脑海中常常浮现中教的身影。而作为一所拥有26年IB教学经验的国际学校，外教同样是足彩平台一道亮丽的风景线。

问题1 对足彩平台学生有怎样的期待？

What is your expectation for Huijia students?

I see Huijia as a school with tons of opportunities. In Huijia, students have infinite choices to define themselves and their education. Everything from an IB curriculum, multiple languages, mathematics, science, history, arts, music, and nearly every sport, Huijia gives the opportunity for students to find their true talents. Their true love. I have extremely high expectations for Huijia students. I believe they have the chance to achieve any goal they set for themselves. A flight to the stratosphere is right around the corner for students in Huijia.

In the primary school stage, what qualities do you focus on in developing students?

It is important to help them develop into further caring students, willing to work together with others, while showing care for classmates, teachers, and the Huijia community at large. I believe that in helping them to develop strong communication skills, it will help them be better inquirers, thinkers, and more knowledgeable individuals. Being strong communicators will allow them to develop the confidence necessary for them to one day take the next step in becoming open minded and independent risk takers. Confidence allows them to build on their intellect, while they reflect on the world around them.

问题3 对足彩平台学生有怎样的感受？

How do you feel about Huijia students?

Each student that comes into my classroom is unique. Their individual talents never cease to amaze me. These students are indeed smart, open-minded, curious and full of energy. I have taught Huijia Preschool for two years and it has truly been a blessing to watch these young beings try their utmost best to learn new things in a way that best suits them. When challenges arise, they do not give up and that is what truly stands out for me in the Huijia students. They are trained to be independent and responsible from a young age. Through independence these children get to enhance their skills, learn right and wrong, develop their personality, and make decisions. I have grown to love every student that I have crossed paths with at Huijia. Because of their love for learning, they have inspired me to become an ever-better teacher day by day.

问题4 如何用学母语的方式习得英文？

How to learn English like natives?

First and foremost, students need to be motivated. I usually ask students why they want to learn English and allow them to have those goals in mind to stay motivated from within and give a lot of praise and encouragement through positive feedback.

Secondly, we need to consider the learning environment. I get students to complete the student survey I created at the start of the year, so that I can better understand their interests, strengths, areas they want to practice and activities they enjoy. I then plan engaging student-centered classes with all of their needs and interests in mind.

Lastly, we need to build their vocabulary by introducing new words in a meaningful way. When they form the links between new words and their lives, they become relatable, used more often and in context. I do this by giving many varied vocabulary activities, so students have to use the words to complete a series of tasks.

首先，学生需要从内到外有动力去学习。我会让学生去思考为什么想学英文，并在课堂上给予很多的正面鼓励，来激发他们的内因和外因。

其次，需要创造一个纯正的语言环境。学期开始我都会了解学生的兴趣、爱好、期待提高的领域，从而在课堂上围绕这些开展活动。

最后，需要让词汇与生活关联起来。每次练习都要在一定的情境中发生，他们才会更懂得如何运用词汇和语句。课堂上我会开展各种相关活动，来提升他们对于词汇的敏感度。

问题5 人文学科对学生有什么帮助？

In which ways will Humanities help students?

In the Humanities department at Huijia we teach a broad subject that encompasses a range of different disciplines. Knowledge of these allows us to better understand the world that we currently live in, whilst encouraging us to question the ways in which societies function and interact.

By exploring these big questions, students learn and refine an important skill set, such as investigation, research and an ability to handle often imperfect and subjective evidence with skepticism, in order to come to the most valid conclusions.

Besides that, it fosters empathy. As we begin to understand different cultures, learn about their histories and their struggles, recognize the similarities and appreciate the differences with our own, we become more understanding and tolerant human beings, something which I believe is paramount to ensuring the progress of civilization.

足彩平台的人文是多学科的综合。它让学生可以更好去了解我们当下生活的世界，并不断去思考社会是如何运转和交互的。在探讨这些话题的过程中，学生会学习探究、调研的能力和批判性思维，从而成为一个独立的学习者。

问题6 商管课程最希望培养学生什么品质？

What quality matters most in Business Management?

I want them to develop an ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET. Become risk-takers and thinkers according to the IB Profile. We have a lot of problems in the world that require attention. I want them to tackle these problems like how the best entrepreneurs would do it.

Hit 4 birds with one stone while they are at it: have social, economic, and ecological sustainability while providing their solutions to the world and keep score of the fun.

我希望培养他们的企业家精神，敢于冒险，敢于创新。现在的世界有太多需要解决的问题了，我希望他们可以和创业者一样去面对和处理它们。

What is the uniqueness of IBDP art courses in Huijia？

During IBDP art courses, we analyze great artists, absorb inspirations, but never stop then. All the analyses are solid foundation for students to create work of their own, with independent ideas, expression, etc.

We strongly encourage students to see more, practice more, keep up with latest art form, but not just imitation. Art derives from true life, and everybody has their own ideas to say. That’s the point.

足彩平台的IBDP艺术课会做很多分析、探究，但并不止步于此。我们希望学生运用灵感后自行创作，表达自己的态度和观点。

艺术源于生活，每个人都有自己的想法。开阔视野之后，最重要的是独立思考，将之转化为自己的语言，这才是关键。

问题8 IB教育最大的特点是？

What is the biggest feature of the IB education?

I was an IB student in high school back in 1975, so I can tell you that there are two main treasures that you keep from IB for a lifetime. One is called: “learning how to learn,” and most of us know it as the Approaches to Learning (ATL). This is something that makes you a lifelong learner. The other one is called: “knowing about knowing,” and it refers to the critical thinking approach that we learn from the Theory of Knowledge (TOK).

Research demonstrates that IB students are very successful, and our success is not limited to getting good grades in school or making money. We have the power of perseverance to accomplish goals and a positive attitude to face difficulty. We choose our university(ies) and graduation is not the end, but just another benchmark on our lifetime map.

Far beyond graduation, we become valuable contributors to our communities ANYWHERE in the world – and as your Director of Curriculum, I will make sure that for those who choose space-related careers, this idea will be valid out of this planet, too. I’m committed to that!

回到1975年，我在中学时也曾是一名IB学生。因此我可以说，IB模式有两个最重要的宝藏，你可以受用终身。一个是“学习如何学习”，我们多数人都知道它被称为学习方法（ATL），会让你成为终身的学习者。另一个是“了解如何求知”，它是指从知识理论（TOK）中学到的批判性思维方法。
