This image is a result of a performance that I did in Beijing to raise awareness of ‘World Humanitarian Day’. I passed roses & cards to 50 random strangers, who in turn pass them on. This was inspired by the street artist Banksy and the ToK question of ‘Whether it is ethical to use suffering to promote social awareness?’. I decided to use roses, which represent empathy and romance to raise an awareness that we need to help others.
